Charles Chaney, Sr.

Charles Linsen Chaney, Sr. of Utopia passed away on January 28, 2016 in Cedar Park at the age of 80. He was born on November 20, 1935 in Sabinal to Charles H. Chaney and Lena Belle (McNair) Chaney. He is survived by two daughters, Carol Smith and husband, Hollis of Bertram, TX and Ranee Smith and husband, Chuck of New Braunfels; two sons, Charles Chaney, Jr. and wife Sharon of Texas City and Russell Chaney and wife, Uphie of New Braunfels; sister, Willa Sue Wicks and husband, Jim of Tyler; brother, Tom Chaney and wife, Charmaine of Utopia; twelve grandchildren, Shannon House, Shane Smith, Ashlee Corn, Cody Smith, Megan Beatty, Sarah Thayer, Casey Smith, Caleb Smith, Taylor Chaney, Calvin Chaney, Christopher Chaney, and Matthew Chaney; eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Doug and Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Naoma Sue Chaney; son, Michael Chaney; brother, Danny Earl Chaney; and special friend, Ina Jackson. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Waresville Cemetery in Utopia. Pallbearers will be Calvin Chaney, Shane Smith, Cody Smith, Caleb Smith, Matthew Chaney, Christopher Chaney, Mark Chaney, and David Wicks.
