Charles Herbert Mills, Sr. of Uvalde passed away on June 25, 2012 in San Antonio after a brief illness at the age of 82. He was born on April 25, 1930 in Carrizo Springs to Stanley Richard and Annie Beck Mills. He married Alma Marie Boultinghouse in Uvalde on December 21, 1951. He is survived by his wife, Marie, of 60 years a son, Charles H. Mills, Jr. and wife, Joy of Uvalde two grandsons, Clinton Lee Mills and wife, Tanya and Cliff Ray Mills and friend, Holly Anderson a sister, Virginia Mills Tollett of Montell two exdaughtersinlaw, Anita Mills of San Antonio and Cindy Justice of Bridge City, TX five greatgrandchildren, Destiney, Clay, and Hunter Mills Christian Keeney and Baylee Cocchiaro and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charles was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to fish the rivers around Carrizo Springs and the local area. He retired from the Texas Highway Dept. after 32 years of service in Uvalde. He loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Uvalde. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel with burial to follow in Waresville Cemetery, Utopia, TX. Pallbearers will be Hal Harrell, Mark Gramling, Trey Tollett, Cameron Tollett, Skipper Tollett, Chris Carper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul E. Tollett Jr., Tommy L. Tollett, Stan Tollett, James Ham, Frank Carrasco, Harold Eaker, J.R. Stuessy, Frank Scott, Milton Woolf and Harmon Jones. Rev. Jerry Scott will officiate.
