Charles W. "Charlie" Carter Jr. went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March
18, 2017 at the age of 73 years. He was born on March 24, 1943 in
Primera, Cameron County,Texas. He graduated from Martin High School,
Laredo, Texas. After high school he attended A&I University. He married
his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Lauren Moss in 1963. In
February they celebrated 54 years of marriage.
In his early years he was engaged in the ranching and farming industry up
and down the border of South Texas. Later he joined the U.S. Border
Patrol. He served in Del Rio and then later, Uvalde. He retired after 30
years of service. He went on to pursue the remainder of his business
career in farm & ranch real estate. Charlie was a Master Mason and
member of the Hondo Lodge #756 as well as a 32nd Degree Shriner.
Charlie is proceeded in death by his parents and one young brother.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lauren, daughter Michelle Linscomb and
husband Steve of San Antonio; son Charles Carter III and wife Sandra of
Lubbock; daughter Valeria Coleman and husband Jim of Uvalde: six
grandchildren, Tyler Linscomb and wife Alex of Lubbock, Grant Linscomb
and Holt Linscomb both of San Antonio; Kathleen Coleman, Natalie
Coleman and Jack Coleman all of Uvalde. He is also survived by one
brother, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors from 6:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
Funeral service will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Rushing-
Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will immediately follow at Uvalde
Cemetery.
