Charlotte Louise Cassin was born on July 12, 1948 to William and Ann Dunn Cassin in Nix Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. She passed away suddenly at home October 14, 2024 and will be missed by all privileged to know and love her ... family, friends, and former students.
As a memorable classroom teacher who taught way more than the mere subject matter of academic education, Charlotte taught for 37 years in Uvalde, Texas. A good mentor, with her ready smile and laughter, she enjoyed knowing and keeping up with her former students, encouraging them to live their best lives. Charlotte was a member of First United Methodist Church of Uvalde, Texas. She enjoyed talking about the Lord of her life, and was faithful in prayer. Charlotte loved to travel and enjoyed visiting many other States and countries. For 8 years, she traveled to Alaska and volunteered with the Iditarod. Several of those years she shared that experience with her "great kids" (grandchildren). Her horses, Dalmatians and rescue dogs were among her faithful companions. Charlotte lived an active, full life. Retirement did not change a thing for her in that regard.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ann Dunn Cassin, and her uncle Ed Cassin. She is survived by her 2 sons, Shane Cassin and William E. Cassin, daughter-in-law, Jean Ann Cassin; grandchildren, Brianna Cassin Morales and husband, Miguel Morales, Meaghann McGuire and husband, Atlee McGuire, and William J. Cassin; sister, Evelyn Sprott and family; along with many others Charlotte considered family.
