Clemencia Pargas

Clemencia "Cleme" Pargas of Uvalde passed away on September 18, 2016 at Christus Sister Mary Hospice Center in San Antonio at the age of 87. She was born on September 23, 1928 in Blewett, Texas to Jose Jimenez and Clemencia (Sotomayor) Castro. She married Mariano Pargas on October 10, 1949 in Uvalde.
She is survived by her daughters; Sylvia Munoz and husband Johnny, Sally Zamora and husband Richard, Rosario Pargas, all of Uvalde and Victoria Moreno and husband Albert of San Antonio; sons, Mariano Pargas Jr. and wife Frances of Uvalde and Jose Pargas of Cotulla; brother, Hector Castro of Los Angeles, California; daughter in law, Virgina Pargas of San Antonio; 24 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Rodolfo Castro.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Ruiz, Jr., Michael Munoz, Mariano Pargas, III, Bobby Ruiz, Brian Garcia, John Eric Munoz, James Ruiz, Johnny Ruiz, III and Joe Pargas, Jr.
