Concepcion Connie Guzman Sanchez, 97 years old, decided it was time to leave this world and enter the Lords presence. She passed away at 1:25 PM on October 30, 2009 in her home.
Connie was a firm believer and dedicated her lifer to Jesus. Not a single day would pass that we did not see her sitting up in the dawn of day reading her bible and thanking Jesus for the start of every single day of her life. She was the strength and inspiration for all of her children. She lead the family and instilled in us respect for others, love of life, and belief in Christ. She raised a very successful, close and proud family. Connie loved children and in her 70s joined the grandparents program in Nampa, Idaho working as a teachers aide for several years assisting Hispanic children with their studies.
After suffering a heart attack in September this year and spending 8 days in the hospital, she amazed everyone by recovering with her usual wit, sharp mind and the best possible constitution intact. The family attributes this miracle to her deep faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who has shown us his power of mercy allowing the family ample time to enjoy her presence long enough for everyone to visit and pray with her.
Connie was born August 12, 1912 in La Hara, Texas a small ranching community in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to Julian and Guadalupe Guzman. She met and fell in love with Margil Gil Sanchez at the age of 17 in the town of Mercedes, Texas. They married three years later. They were blessed with ten children. Connie moved from Donna, Texas to Pingree, Idaho in 1959, where she resided until 1970 when she moved to Nampa. She lived in Nampa until 2005. At that time she decided to move to her home state of Texas to live with her daughter, Aida in Uvalde.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Margil and daughter, Alicia. She is survived by her sons; Gilberto Maria of Celina, Texas; Silvano Anneliese of Nampa, Idaho; Claudio Maureen of Blackfoot, Idaho; Margil Myke, Jr. Janeen of Nampa, Idaho; Ernesto Cathy of Boise, Idaho; Julian Theresa of Moreland, Idaho; and daughters; Adelina Joaquin Pena of Nampa, Idaho; Aurora Daniel Perez of Nampa, Idaho; Aida Andy Perez of Uvalde, Texas; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
