Constance Gerdes

Constance L. Gerdes of Uvalde passed away on October 23, 2009 in Del Rio, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on August 25, 1920, in Castroville, Texas to Alex and Mary Teresa Spettel Mangold. She was raised on the family ranch in Medina Lake. She graduated from Bandera High School in 1939. She married Stanley John Gerdes on August 3, 1943. She is survived by two sons; Steve Gerdes of Del Rio, Texas; Randy Gerdes and wife Becky of Uvalde; one brother; Vernon Mangold and wife Elouise of Bandera; six grandchildren; Mickey Gerdes and wife Kristi of Uvalde, Texas; Andy Gerdes of Uvalde, Texas; Becca Noble and husband Matt of San Antonio, Texas; Travis Gerdes of Uvalde, Texas; Sami Harris and husband Blake of Waco, Texas; Chase Gerdes of Uvalde, Texas; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley John Gerdes and sister Marie Krueger. A rosary will be held on Sunday at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel at 7:00 PM. Gravesides services will be held on Monday October 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Bandera, Texas. Pallbearers for Mrs. Gerdes will be Mickey Gerdes, Travis Gerdes, Jim Gerdes, Lester Gerdes, Jimmy Mangold, and Tom Mangold.
