Corina Ortega

Corina Guerra Ortega of Uvalde passed away on August 17, 2008 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 58. She was born on September 19, 1949 in Hondo, Texas to Vicente and Jesusa Hernandez. She married Salome Ortega Sr. on August 13, 1964 in DHanis, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Salome D. Ortega Sr. of Uvalde, Texas; four daughters; Rhonda Lopez and Rachel Maldonado both of San Antonio, Texas; Rebecca Guzman and husband, Johnny, and Roxanne Ortega all of Uvalde, Texas; three sons; Richard A. Ortega and Randy Ortega both of Uvalde, Texas; and Salome Ortega Jr. and wife, Victoria of Cedar Creek, Texas; two sisters; Roseanne Chapa and Cathy Darnell both of D'Hanis, Texas; five brothers; Patrick V. Perez and wife, Amanda; Rudy, Rene, Reginald and Richard Hernandez all of DHanis, Texas; eleven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and step-father; Vicente R. Perez and one sister; Rebecca Hernandez. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Rushing -Estes- Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Father Wieslaw Iwaniec will officiate.
