C.P. Canales of Uvalde passed away at his residence on June 26, 2012 at the age of 82. He was born in Uvalde on October 16, 1929 to Candelario and Anita Pena Canales. He married Magdalena Gonzales in Uvalde on March 26, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, daughter, Delia Magdaleno and husband Juan of Uvalde sons, Candelario Boy Canales III, Jose Alberto Canales and wife Margie both of Uvalde and Roland Canales and partner Brad Boyett of Austin sister, Amparo P. Canales of Uvalde, brother, Alfredo J. Canales and wife Irene of New Llano, Louisiana grandchildren, Patricia Magdaleno, Juan Rogelio Magdaleno, Monica Canales, Jose Alberto Canales and Emilio Jose Canales, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Delia Canales, sisters, Consuelo C. Romo, Hortencia C. Aguero, Dolores C. Fisher, Esperanza Penny Canales, brother, Luis P. Canales and Ruben Canales. A rosary will be held on Wednesday June 27, 2012 and Thursday June 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral mass will be held on Friday June 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juan Rogelio Magdaleno, Jose Alberto Canales Jr., Emilio Jose Canales, Ray Romo, Ruben Canales, and Enrique Hernandez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Villarreal, Ramon Quate Cano, Albino Shorty Salinas, Alonzo Villarreal and Esther Gomez.
