Crespin Lopez Saiz, Jr., 71, of Uvalde passed away on September 24, 2024, at St. Lukes Hospital in San Antonio. His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish his memory.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, September 30, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. on both days at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Crespin was born on October 13, 1952, to Rosa (Lopez) and Crespin Falcon Saiz, Sr.
Growing up in Uvalde, he learned the values of hard work and dedication from an early age. He began sheep shearing alongside his father and brothers, and later served as a foreman at various ranches within Uvalde County.
On September 8, 1979, Crespin married, Mary Alice Ybarra, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde. Together, they built a family that valued connection, laughter, and shared memories.
Crespin is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Alice Ybarra Saiz of Uvalde; his three daughters, Nancy Saiz Salerno and husband, Manuel of Corpus Christi, Sandra Saiz Terrazas and husband, Joe Roy of Uvalde, and Elizabeth Saiz of Uvalde; his two sons, Raul Y. Munoz and Joe Y. Saiz, both of Uvalde. He was also blessed with a large family, including his six sisters, Eva Torres of Sabinal, Janie Gonzales and husband, Juan of Uvalde, Rosa Pacheco of San Antonio, Ramona Saiz of Santa Ana, Ruth Ann Wright and husband, Tony of Temple, and Susana Longoria Turman of DeRidder, Louisiana; his bother, Martin Saiz of Elkhart, Indiana; 27 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Crespin was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Santiago Saiz and Israel Saiz, whose memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.
Crespin's legacy of love and unity will continue to shine through his family, who take solace in the memories they created together.
Pallbearers will be David Enriquez, Raul Ryan Munoz, Jose Luis Terrazas, Joe Caine Saiz, Edgar Saiz Sanchez, Jr. and Joe Anthony Terrazas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Crespin Saiz, Joaquin Ray Terrazas, Vicente Marco Terrazas, Jose Raul Sanchez, Dusten Enriquez, Duane Ryals, Rey Lucas Garcia, and Robert Ray Garcia.
