Cruz Gutierrez

Cruz Arturo (Chacho) Gutierrez of Uvalde passed away on January 25, 2019 at his residence at the age of 75. He was born on May 3, 1943 in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico to Guadalupe (Gutierrez) and Arturo Gutierrez. He married Inocencia Ruiz in Uvalde on February 9, 1963. He is survived by his wife of 55 years; son, Oscar Arturo Gutierrez and wife, Norma of Uvalde; three daughters, Rosa Elva Morales Salazar and husband, Juan, and Linda Galindo and husband, Raymond, all of Uvalde; and Rosa Elia G. Lopez and husband, Rolando of Rosenberg; brother, Mario Gutierrez and wife Sulema of Uvalde; sisters, Mary Alice Hidalgo of Uvalde, and Maria Tobias and husband, Fred of California; twelve grandchildren, Oscar Gutierrez, Jr., April Mae Hernandez, Betsy Gonzales, Levi Gutierrez, Amber Lea Morales, Jesse G. Morales IV, Chasity Salazar, Angelica Trevino, Andrea Rodriguez, Rolando Lopez, Jr., Kirsten D. Garibay, and Marcos Galindo; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial following in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Oscar Gutierrez, Jr., Levi Gutierrez, Jesse Morales IV, Rolando Lopez, Jr., Ernie Garibay, and Jeremy Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ismael Costilla and Martin "Nio" Ibarra.
