Cruz Torres

Cruz C. Torres of Sabinal passed away on January 28, 2008 in Medina Community Hospital at the age of 92. He was born on May 3, 1915 in Abilene, Texas to Juan and Ramona Torres. He is survived by daughters; Juanita Gonzales of California; Ramona Campos of Minnesota; and Rosa Herrera of Austin, Texas; sons; Manuel Torres of Bryan, Texas; Ricky Torres and Gilbert Torres both of Sabinal, Texas; sisters; Maximina Carrasco and Josefa Carrasco both of Mexico; brothers; Marcelo Carrasco of Mexico; Gustavo Carrasco; Margarito Carrasco; and Manuel Carrasco all of Oregon; 26 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; 45 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Jesusita Torres; sons; Gilberto Martinez and Reynaldo Torres; grandson; Pablo Puentes. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Sabinal. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Patricks Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Patricks Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Puentes, Oscar Herrera, Jeff Loman, Frederico Aviles, Carlos Guzman and Vicente Aguilar.
