Cruzita Velasquez

Cruzita S. Velasquez of Uvalde passed away on May 13, 2008 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. She was born on April 10, 1922 in Lockhart, Texas to Juan and Bencelada Saavedra. She is survived by two daughters; Rosario G. Arroyos of Uvalde, Texas; and Julia Quiroz and husband, Armando of Knippa, Texas; five sons; Ramon Velasquez Jr. and wife, Lydia of San Antonio, Texas; Rogelio Velasquez and wife, Juanita of Uvalde, Texas; Victor Velasquez of Pueblo, Colorado; Jose Velasquez and wife, Irma of Uvalde, Texas; and Gilbert Velasquez and wife, Sylvia of Victoria, Texas; twenty-six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ramon M. Velasquez; one granddaughter; Corina Rodriguez; four grandsons; Isaac Velasquez, Gilbert Velasquez Jr., Angel Maldonado, and Angel Espino; three sisters; Juanita Zamora, Gregoria Quesada, and Guadalupe Lopez; and one brother; Victor Lopez. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel with burial following in Hillcrest Cemetery.
