David Z. Contreras
David Z. Contreras, 55, of Sabinal passed away on November 12, 2023, at Community Care Center in Hondo, Texas.
He was born on September 3, 1968, in Watertown, Wisconsin to Josefina (Zapata) and Elias O. Contreras.
He is survived by his mother, Josefina Z. Contreras of Sabinal; sisters, Elise Contreras of Sabinal; two brothers, Daniel Contreras of Sabinal and Fred Contreras of Uvalde; nieces, Michaela Contreras, Erica Borrego, Danyelle Urrabazo, and Megan Contreras; nephews, Michael Contreras, Matthew Contreras, Justin Trevino and Joshua Contreras.
He is preceded in death by his father and sister, Diana Contreras.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. and on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Rodriguez, Enrique Garcia, Justin Trevino, Rick Reyes, Gilbert Hidalgo and Jonas Borrego.
