David Juarez

David Narvaiz Juarez of Sabinal passed away on August 28, 2019 in Sabinal at the age of 86.  He was born on January 31, 1933 in Brownsville, Texas to Justo and Juanita (Narvaiz) Juarez.

David was a Korean War Veteran.  He served in the Army from 1950 to 1953 as a member of the 45th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged in November 19, 1953 with the rank of Sergeant. He was the proud recipient of the United States Army Combat Infantry Badge.

David married the love of his life, Maria Gonzales at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal on May 7, 1955.

He is survived by his wife Maria Juarez of Sabinal to whom he was married to for 64 years; daughters, Rosalinda Juarez Cordova and husband, Tiodoro N. Cordova of Uvalde, Sonia Juarez of Uvalde; sons, David Gonzales Juarez of Brownsville and Jesse Gonzales Juarez of Sabinal; 11 grandchildren, Joseph Justin Cordova, Christopher James Cordova, Joseph Ruben Juarez, Jonathan Juarez Placencia, David Juarez, Jr., Luis David Juarez , Stephanie O’Neill, Jesalie Juarez, Julisa Juarez, Jordan Juarez, and Maria Elena Juarez; great grandchildren, Joshua Cordova, Braxton Qwade Juarez, Branson Jayms Juarez, Charmaine Ponce and Alaynah  Richelle Martinez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Ruben Juarez; and sisters, Dolores Surita and Ninfa Vera.

A rosary will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal.  A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
