Deborah Chapoy

Deborah Ann Chapoy of Uvalde passed away on March 13, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 52.

She was born on April 28, 1970, in Uvalde to Mary (Vasquez) and Jimmy A. Chapoy.

Debbie taught for Uvalde C.I.S.D for 26 years and worked at Batesville School for 23 years.

She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Chapoy, Jr.; niece, Alyssa Chapoy; nephew, Benjamin Santiago Chapoy all of Uvalde; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and niece, Jasmin V. Chapoy.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 3 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christian Chapoy, Willie Garcia, III, Hector Garcia, Jr., Marco Vasquez, Mike Moreno and Ernest Vasquez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alfredo Chapoy, Jr., Adolpho Chapoy, Jr., and Chicas of 88’.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sacred Hearth Catholic School, Uvalde Dual Language Academy and Batesville School.
