Dedic Mancha

Dedic Gonzales Mancha passed away on December 22,2020 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.  She was born December 22, 1946.

Dedic enjoyed spending time and staying in close contact with friends and family far and near.  She had a tradition of honoring everyone close to her by baking them their favorite cake on their birthday and delighted in enjoying a piece with them.  She was a licensed nurse that made it her life mission to care for children in the Crystal City School District and those in the Community Council Program of Uvalde and neighboring communities.

On September 13, 1964, Dedic married the love of her life, Frank C. Mancha.  They moved to Crystal City, Texas in the early 70’s.  She remained there until she widowed in 1999.  Dedic moved to Pearland, Texas to be near her daughter and only grandchild.  When her grandson headed to college she too moved back to Uvalde, where she lived the last few years.

Dedic is survived by her daughter, Denise M. Adame and spouse Jose Adame and one grandson, Joshua Andrew Adame of Pearland, Texas; step grandchildren Regina Adame, Amanda Adame and Luis Adame all of Arlington, Texas; siblings, Vicente Gonzales and spouse, Maria Guadalupe, Roland Gonzales, Andres Gonzales and spouse, Esmeralda, Juan B Gonzales and spouse, Rachel all of Uvalde, Catalina Criselda Flores and spouse, Fausto Flores, III of Pearland and Marco A. Gonzales of Uvalde; and 7 step great grandchildren.  Dedic is preceded in death by her spouse, Frank C. Mancha, son, Frankie Mancha, parents, Vicente and Consuelo Gonzales, in laws Evaristo and Consuelo Mancha.

Viewing will be on Monday, January 4, 2020 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing Estes Funeral Home.  The rosary will also be live streamed.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
