Dennis Jackson Blair was born on February 5, 1940 in Edith, Texas to parents James Francis Blair and Vivian Muston Blair. He passed away on March 22, 2009 in La Pryor, Texas at the age of 69.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Geneva Ray Blair of Johnson City, Texas; four daughters; Melinda and husband, Bobby Roberts of Johnson City, Texas; Ella and husband, Abel Osorio of Temple, Texas; Pamela Gabriel of San Angelo, Texas; Lisa and husband, Gary Horton of Midland, Texas; two sons; Hulan and wife, Marilyn Blair of Kamiah, Idaho and Jim and wife, Crissy Blair of Dripping Springs, Texas; Also four sisters; Madelle Thomas Thomas of Arlington, Texas; Vivian Keel of San Angelo, Texas; Doris and husband, Harold Akins of Oakville, CA; and Eunice and husband, Royce Wilkerson of Grapevine, Texas and two brothers; Wayne and wife Jo Ann Blair of Wisconsin; and Frank and wife, Marty Blair of Bastrop, Texas; 13 grandchildren; Lonnie Bingham, Jennifer and Rachel Osorio; Patrick and Zachary Gabriel; Ryan, Kasci, and Bryce Blair; Bethany, Abby and David Blair; and Ashton Horton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Francis Blair and his mother, Vivian Blair King; a sister; Mildred White, and also two brothers; Dwayne Blair and Carl Blair.
Mr. Blair graduated from Texas Tech University, raised hogs in Midland, Texas; Animas, New Mexico; and La Pryor, Texas. He was a deacon in both Animas Baptist Church New Mexico and La Pryor Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love of hogs, fishing, and young people.
Funeral services will be at 9:00 AM in First Baptist Church in La Pryor on March 25, 2009. Burial will follow in Hayrick Lodge Cemetery in Robert Lee, Texas at 4:00 PM Rev. Daniel Bliss will officiate.
