Dionicia Canales

Mrs. Dionicia O. Canales of Uvalde passed away in Uvalde on June 11, 2007 at the age of 84.

She was born April 22, 1923 in Utopia, Tx. to Rafael Felicita Ortiz.

She is survived by daughters, Julia V. Vasquez husband, Bentura of Leakey, Tx.; Teodora Flores; Rosemary V. Flores Gerardo Hernandez, all of Edmond, Ok.; Dionicia Villasana of Houston, Tx.; Elda V. Puga of Wichita Falls, Tx.; Augustina V. Mashburn husband, Steve of Mesquite, Tx.; son, Lionel Villasana wife, Karin of Copperas Cove, Tx.; sisters, Gregoria B. Coronado of Uvalde, Tx.; Elida B. Quiroz of Knippa, Tx. Julia Gonzalez of San Antonio; brothers, Richard U. Ortiz of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; Roque U. Ortiz of Uvalde, Tx.; 27 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Trinidad Villasana; son, David Gerard Villasana; four brothers one sister.

Pallbearers will be Nicholaes Villasana; Carlos Villarreal, Jr.; Brandon Mashburn; Justin Tyler Boyd; Nicasio Flores; Rovan Flores, Jr.

A rosary will be held at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel on Thursday at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Knippa Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Wieslaw Iwaniec will be officiating.

Arrangements are by Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
