Dolores Garcia

Dolores Mojica Garcia, 87, of Uvalde passed away on December 5, 2023, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. 

She was born on February 19, 1936, in Crystal City, Texas to Francisca (Mata) and Manuel Mojica.

She is survived by her three daughters, Maria De La Luz Briseno, Martina Alvarez, and Maria Elisa Martinez; five sons, Gilbert Garcia, Jr. and wife, Bertha, Juan Garcia, and wife, Frances, Eloy Garcia and wife, Denise, Martin Garcia, Fidencio Garcia and wife, Dora Mendoza all of Uvalde; three sisters, Mica Martinez of Crystal City, Gloria Esparza of Crystal City, and Minerva Hernandez of Minnesota; two brothers, Rudy Mojica and Joe Mojica both of Beaumont; 29 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto Garcia, Sr., son, Silvestro Garcia; daughter, Erma Perez, grandchildren, Eric Briseno, Joe Luis Garcia, Zoe Madison Chapa, Davaughn Rodriguez and Amerie Jo Garza; and two sons in laws, Armando Briseno and David Martinez. 

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Sonny Galindo, Jacob Vielma, Louie Garcia, Jesus Alvarez, DJ Velasquez and Enrique Valdez.
