Don Weston Alspaugh of Uvalde passed away on April 23, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 82. He was born on December 3, 1931 in Slaton, Texas to Joseph Weldon and Myrtle Dovie Bird Alspaugh. He married Carolyn Emma Steffens on November 28, 1956 in Slaton, Texas. He was a farmer for over 30 years in Slaton and Knippa and he then opened Alspaugh Machine Tool in 1985 and he continued to work as a machinist until his death. He is survived by his wife of 57 years of Uvalde daughters, Debbie Leatham of Austin, Lori Alspaugh of San Antonio and Patty Alspaugh of Kerrville son, Wesley Alspaugh of Lubbock brother, Bill Alspaugh of Slaton 10 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Karl Alspaugh parents brother, James Alspaugh and sister, Wynelle Kilcrease. A vigil will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Schumann, Mitchell Schumann, John Leatham, Weston Alspaugh, Rick Hise and David White. Memorial Contributions to be made to Sacred Heart School in Uvalde.
