Donald Andrews, Sr.

Donald Leslie Andrews, Sr. of La Pryor passed away on June 30, 2009 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 75. He was born on October 6, 1933 in La Pryor, Texas to Leonard and Minerva DavisAndrews. He married Ann Turner in Carrizo Springs on September 4, 1954. He is survived by his wife of 54 years; two sons; Donald L. Andrews Jr.; and William Guy Andrews both of North Zulch, Texas; five sisters; Betty Jean Oliphant, and Lyne Solansky both of Crystal City, Texas; Laverne Weber of Seguin, Texas; Sue McHazlett of La Pryor, Texas; and Leva Lou Jones of Uvalde, Texas; seven grandchildren, Zachariah Andrews; Becky Esparza; Joshua Aaron Andrews; Jason Green; Chance Bowman; A.J. Troxclair; and Angie Calikote; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters in Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willis Nelson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 9:30 AM at the La Pryor Baptist Church with burial to follow in La Pryor Cemetery. Rev. Dan Bliss will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Gibson, Glen Turner, Casey Allen, Andy McHazlett, Hector Gonzales, and Zack Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Solansky, Matthew McHazlett, and Mark Weber.
