With a heavy heart, we bid farewell to our beloved Dora Peña Desidere, 70, of New Llano, Louisiana, formerly of Uvalde, who passed away at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.
She was born on June 3, 1953, in Uvalde, TX to Carolina (Flores) and Joaquin Peña. Dora was a beloved sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her roots in Texas and found joy in traveling with her husband throughout the United States during his work assignments, always returning home to Texas with great affection.
Dora’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, exemplified by her daily prayers for everyone she knew. She deeply loved her mother and visited her often, continuing to lay flowers at her grave long after her passing. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was immeasurable, and she never missed an opportunity to express how proud she was of them.
Her home was adorned with cherished photographs, a testament to her love for family and friends. Dancing to Tejano music brought her immense joy, as did listening to her favorite songs.
Dora leaves behind her devoted husband, Clayton Desidere of New Llano, LA, with whom she enjoyed 29 years of marriage. She took great joy in caring for him, and their life together was marked by laughter, adventures, and cherished moments.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Saucedo and husband, Jose of Uvalde, Texas; three grandchildren, Nichoel Gonzalez and husband, Luis, Joshua Saucedo and companion, Kayla Byrd, and Jose Saucedo, Jr.; three great-granddaughters, Kaylynn Sandoval, Caroline Gonzalez, and Andrea Gonzalez; sisters, Maria Ortiz of Leesville, Louisiana, Irma Luevano, Stella Samarripa and husband, Roberto, Cecilia Luna, Ana Santos and companion, Juan Torres, and Patricia Perez and husband, Rogelio all of Uvalde, Texas, and Lydia Torres of Wuhan, China; sister-in-law, Hortencia Peña of Uvalde, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were touched by her kindness and love throughout her life.
