Dora Torres

Mrs. Dora Martinez Torres of Uvalde passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Uvalde at the age of 83. Mrs. Torres was born on February 7, 1932 in Monclova, Mexico to Cresencio and Guadalupe (Castillo Vera) Martinez. She married Juventino P. Torres in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. Mrs. Torres is survived by four daughters, Martha Morales and husband Fred of Crowley, Texas; Marina Gonzalez and husband Raul of College Station; Marivel Gonzalez and husband Pedro of Uvalde and Dora Maria Partida and husband Miguel of Uvalde; four sons, Fidencio Torres and wife Mary Ellen of Kress, Texas; Juventino Torres Jr. and wife Dora of Uvalde; Jose Angel Guillen and wife Emma of San Antonio and David Torres and wife Jessica of Uvalde; three sisters, Marina Gonzalez of San Antonio; Manuela Martinez and Mari De Castillo both from Uvalde; one brother, Jimmy Monsivais of Severance, Colorado; thirty-nine grandchildren, Emily Richard, Gracie Rios, Maricela Rios and Ramon Rios all of Amarillo; Dulce Torres, Mark Torres, Luis Torres, Jose Torres, Fidencio Torres, Guadalupe Torres Jr., Celeste Torres and Donna Torres all of Uvalde; Sally Sauer, Nancy Torres , Mary Ellen Moreno, Connie Bernal and Johnny Torres all of Kress, Texas; Juventino Torres III, Ruby Torres, Priscilla Torres, Michael Torres and Laura Arroyo all of Uvalde; Bianca De La Garza, Erica Guillen, Angela Marie Gonzalez, Sylvia Guillen, Angela Torres, Jennifer Torres, Eric Guillen, Christina Guillen and Jose Guillen all of San Antonio; Jose Miguel Partida Jr. and Jazmine Partida both of Uvalde; Kristen Gonzalez and Raul Gonzalez both of College Station; Crystal Flores, Myra Rodriguez, Kassandra Diaz, Nicole Guerra, Pedro Gonzalez Jr. and Devin Gonzalez all of Uvalde; ninety great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Torres was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sons, Mario Torres and Guadalupe Torres, five grandchildren, Mario Alberto Torres, Linda Esperanza Torres, Maria Elena Guillen, Mark Anthony Torres and Martin Mario Torres.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 and Friday, January 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Batesville with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juventino Torres III, Fidencio O. Torres, Guadalupe Torres Jr., David Torres, Jose Partida and Raymond Rios.
