Doris Herndon

Doris Marilyn Herndon of Uvalde passed away on July 7, 2019 in Uvalde at the age of 95. She was born on November 5, 1923 in Marble Falls, Texas to Jack Ezel and Eula Mae (Moore) Moss.

She married Elmer Bryan Herndon on November 8, 1941 in Brackettville, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Nell Herndon and husband, Wilford Carter of Uvalde; son, Dr. Elmer Bryan Herndon Jr. and wife, Sherry of Uvalde; grandchildren, Jeff Herndon and wife Jeannie of Longview, Texas, Wayne Herndon and wife, Karin of Fairfax, Virginia; great grandchildren, Colton Herndon of Longview, Texas, Caitlyn Herndon of Longview, Texas, Tiffany Herndon Watkins of Ohio and Kyle Herndon of Fairfax, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Bill Moss; sister, Sara Moss McBee.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Montell Cemetery.

Friends and family will gather at Dr. Elmer and Sherry Herndon’s residence, after the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Creg Moss, Don Herndon, Chuck Herndon, Bob Herndon, Roy Herndon, and Bub Winn.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Jack Herndon and Pete Herndon.
