Doris Mildred Morgan of Uvalde passed away on January 10, 2013 in Uvalde Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 96. She was born on August 28, 1916 in Rochelle, Grant Parish, LA to Charles R. and Ola Lee Dupuy. She grew up in Louisiana and graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport in 1937. She moved to the Chaparrosa Ranch with her family in 1950 and moved to Uvalde in 1952. According to the family, Doris was a loving homemaker, a tenacious bridge player, and a faithful Episcopalian. She had been a caseworker with the Aid to Families with Dependent Children AFDC for many years. She is survived by a son, David Morgan and wife, Martha Kay of Bedford, TX daughter, Judith Morgan of Ventura, CA grandchildren, Mary Morgan Paul D. Morgan and wife, Mary Elizabeth David Newman Joseph Newman Matthew Newman and Elizabeth Newman greatgrandchildren, David S. Morgan Tanner Bilby and Mason Bilby and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents husband, Howell Morgan, Jr. and brother, Charles R. Dupuy, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 2:30 PM at St. Philips Episcopal Church. Memorials may be made to St. Philips Episcopal Church, 343 N. Getty St., Uvalde, TX 78801, or the charity of ones choice. Cremation was under the direction of RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary.
