Dorothy Isbell

Dorothy Lou Isbell of Uvalde passed away on April 17, 2015 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 93. She was born on March 9, 1922 in San Angelo, TX to John Luther Gurley and Ella Bailey Gurley. She married James Wilbur Isbell on April 2, 1941 in Mertzon, TX. He preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by three daughters, Ellen Balke and husband, Steve of Uvalde; Ruth Price and husband, Marlin of Coppell, TX; and Jan Westmoreland and husband, John of Deer Park TX; and one son, Jay Isbell and wife, Kim of Cardiff, CA; ten grandchildren, Chris Price and wife, Stacey; James Price and wife, Sarah; Michael Balke and wife, Cathy; Matthew Balke; Sara Potter; Travis Potter and wife, Heather; Maddy Smith and husband, Nick; Liberty Isbell; Finn Isbell; and Jasper Isbell; and four great-grandchildren, Vann, Paige, and Cole Balke; and Camden Price. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Uvalde Cemetery. Rev. Tim Fahrenthold will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the music program at 1st United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., Uvalde, TX 78801; El Progreso Memorial Library, 301 W. Main St., Uvalde, TX 78801; or to the charity of one's choice.
