Dorothy Willemin

Dorothy Jean Willemin passed away on November 5, 2019 in Uvalde at the age of 76 after spending a lovely day full of visits from family & friends bringing her long battle with endometrial cancer to a close.  She was born on December 29, 1942 in Phoenix, Arizona to Charles and Virginia Stephens.

She married Donnegan Willemin on September 8, 1962 in San Antonio.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Downing and husband, Eric of Beeville; sons, John Willemin and husband, Sam Thompson of Spring and Don Willemin II and wife, Maria of Uvalde; grandchildren, Emma Downing, Margaret Downing, Lois Downing, Kaitlyn Willemin and George Willemin along with countless more family members related by blood, marriage and of her choosing.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for 11:00AM Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Baptist Temple Church in Uvalde, with a reception to follow.  We are asking attendees to refrain from wearing mourning attire in the spirit of her vibrant personality.  You are also asked to bring quilts or afghans made by Dorothy and given to you or a loved one to be displayed at the service as a representation of her talents and giving nature
