Douglas Wade Brice, 56, of Uvalde, Texas, left us far too soon on December 7, 2024. Born on March 10, 1968, in Austin, Texas, Doug lived a life marked by service, humor, and a boundless love for those around him.
Doug had the biggest heart and a witty sense of humor that could light up any room. He was a dedicated public servant who served numerous counties as a sheriff's deputy. Beyond his role in law enforcement, Doug was a devout member of the rodeo community, a passion that began in his early years and stayed with him throughout his life.
Doug had a remarkable way of turning friends into family. His home was often filled with laughter and the delicious smells of his cooking, as he loved entertaining in his kitchen. He was an incredible cook, though he’d always joke that he hoped you enjoyed the meal but that you didn’t remember it too much, because he wouldn’t be able to recreate it the same way again.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Brandi; his son, Wade; his daughter, Paris; and his cherished granddaughters, Genesis and Angelina. He is also survived by his parents, Randall and Linda; his sister, Amanda; niece, Chelsea; nephew, Brice; his Uncle Tom. Doug's circle of family and friends was far too large to name in full — a testament to the many lives he touched and the friendships he cultivated with genuine warmth and kindness.
Doug's love for horses, his dedication to his work, and his spirit of generosity will be remembered forever. The memories he created with us will continue to bring smiles, tears, and laughter.
At this time, a celebration of life is pending and will be announced on social media once it is decided.
Memorials are of your choosing, but please know a heartfelt note, a warm hug, or a few kind words would be the most fitting tribute to a man who loved so deeply and was loved just as much in return.
Dougie loved all of you, and we do too.
