Edmundo Arizmendi

Edmundo Rene Arizmendi of Uvalde passed away on June 7, 2017 at his residence at the age of 80. He was born on February 12, 1937 in Knippa, Texas to Dolores Escobedo and Antonia (Talavera) Arizmendi. He married Maria Gallardo in Uvalde on January 13, 1979.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years of Uvalde; daughter, Naida Arizmendi of Uvalde, and Leticia Arizmendi of Kennedy; and son, Larry Arizmendi of Grass Valley, California; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Rene Arizmendi and Michael Arizmendi; daughter, Jacklyn Arizmendi; sisters, Carmelita Arizmendi, Grace Thompson, Adela Silva, Guadalupe Mansanarez, Emma Cortez; brothers, Enrique Arizmendi and Alfredo Arizmendi.
A rosary will be held on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Angel Mendoza, Roy Arizmendi, Roy Navejar, Jr., Joe Gaitan, Samuel Mireles, John Falcon, Gene Ayala and Vale Ortega
