Edmundo Garcia

Edmundo Garcia of Uvalde passed away on January 30, 2023 at Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 89.

He was born on December 19, 1933, to Ignacia (Luna) and Martin Garcia.

He married Ninfa Reyes in Uvalde on January 22, 1952.

He is survived by his wife, Ninfa Garcia, of 71 years of Uvalde; daughter, Carmela Cano and husband, Antonio of Uvalde; son, Rene Garcia of Uvalde; two sisters, Margarita Samora of Uvalde and Maria Fuentes of El Dorado; seven grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Edmundo Gilbert Garcia; granddaughter, Candice Teresa Garcia, sisters, Elvira Perez, Elisa Castro, Lucia Gray, Rosa G. Zamarripa and Carmen Reyes; brothers, Reginaldo Garcia, Raul Garcia, and Ruben Longoria.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rene Garcia, II, Jimmy Martinez, Reymundo Morales, Danny Canales, Johnathon G. Garcia, Gabriel Q. Garcia, and Edmundo Fermin Cano.
