Edna Frye Cribley, 88 of Uvalde, died Wednesday March 20, 2013 at Sonterra Health Center in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born on August 27, 1924 in Ypsilanti, MI to Grover and Ida Forbes Frye.
Edna graduated from Ypsilanti High School and then worked in the office at U.S. Truck until she met and married Howard Pete Cribley on September 25, 1949. She worked as a wife and mother supporting the family business, Cribley Drilling. In 1964, after selling the business they relocated to Uvalde, Texas where she lived until 2012.
Edna was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 49 years, and an active member of the Searchers Sunday School Class. She worked in the gift shop for the Hospital Auxiliary at Uvalde Memorial until 2011. She was an active member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, El Progreso Library organization, and two bridge clubs.
Mrs. Cribley was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, her parents three brothers Marvin Frye, Harold Frye and Howard Frye and one sister Geraldine Frye Hawker.
She is survived by two sons, Rex Cribley and wife, Cecilia, and Scott Cribley and wife, Pam four grandchildren, Kyle Cribley, Kevin Cribley, Sean Brewer and Hannah Cribley all of San Antonio and one great grandson Brayden Brewer two sisterinlaws Mary Frye of Ypsilanti, MI and Donna Frye of Portage, MI. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday evening at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Uvalde with Rev. Tim Fahrenthold officiating.
Interment will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:30 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
