Eduardo Andrew Garcia, Sr.

Eduardo Garcia, 61, of Uvalde died peacefully on May 1, 2010, in his home with his family by his side. Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall on Jolley Street, in Uvalde, followed by a BBQ in his honor at their home.

Eduardo was born February 2, 1949, in Uvalde, Texas. He is the son of the late Samuel and Esther Garcia of Uvalde. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Pauline Garcia. He married Pauline Wist Kalmring on July 12, 1997. He is also survived by one aunt, Teresa Maldonado two brothers Samuel Garcia, Jr., and Armando M. Garcia Sr. of Austin Texas 7 children Stacey Kalmrig, Crystal Kalmrig, Cordell and wife, Megan Kalmrig of Uvalde Eduardo, Jr., Irma Garcia, and Robert Garcia of Chicago, IL Gladys Garcia of Batesville and numerous cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He fought a hard battle with kidney cancer, and his wishes were for any donations to be made to the Kate Marmion Regional Cancer Medical Center in Uvalde. Eduardo loved to travel, enjoyed his trips to Canada, sharing his stories and old western movies, and talking about Duke, John Wayne. One of his most memorable childhood moments was being at the Alamo during the filming of a John Wayne movie and getting to meet him in person. Eduardo was an enthusiastic historian and loved to share his knowledge and challenge those who would listen.
