Elena Sanchez

Elena G. Sanchez of Uvalde passed away on August 7, 2021 at her residence at the age of 88.  She was born on February 24, 1933 in Uvalde to Eduardo Gonzales and Marcela Galindo.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Contreras and husband, Richard of Uvalde, Texas ; son, Ed Sanchez and wife, Pam of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Tomasa Nevarez of San Marcos, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Sanchez, Alec Sanchez, Lauren Sanchez, Julia Sanchez, and Sarah Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Armando Sanchez.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Pete Gonzales, Richard Sanchez, Jr., Matt Sanchez, and Alec Sanchez.
