Eli M. Valdez of Uvalde passed away on May 17, 2022, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 59.
He was born on October 5, 1962, in Lubbock, Texas to Mary (Menchaca) and Henry Valdez, Sr.
He married Virtudes De La Cruz in Uvalde, Texas on December 28, 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years of Uvalde; son, Eli Valdez, Jr. of Uvalde; sisters, Annette Valdez and Elizabeth De La Garza both of Uvalde; brothers, Eloy Valdez, Sr. of Uvalde and Henry Valdez, Jr. of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Mary Jo Rodriguez.
Visitation will begin on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Cooper, Juan D. Gonzalez, Arnulfo Arredondo, William Valdez, Valentine Mendoza, George Ruiz, Eloy Valdez, Jr., and Jerad Valdez.
