Elia Medrano

Elia C. Medrano of San Antonio, formerly of Batesville, passed away on November 19, 2022, at her residence at the age of 68.  She was born on September 3, 1954, in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico to Carmen Irene Montes Morales and Juan Manuel Gonzalez.

She married Alfredo Medrano in Crystal City on March 19, 1974.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carmen Ruiz of Batesville and Griselda Medrano of Uvalde; two sons, Jose Alfredo Medrano and Gilberto Medrano both of Uvalde; four sisters, one brother, 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents; and one sister.

Visitation will begin on Friday, Nov. 25 at 12 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 12 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Batesville.  Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jose Medrano, Gilbert Medrano, Alfred M. Trevino, Shane Medrano, Xavius Medrano, Martin Ruiz, Jr.
