Elias Lucio of Uvalde passed away on November 9, 2016 at his residence at the age of 85. He was born on May 4, 1931 in Gregory, TX to Felipe Lucio and Josefina Rincon Lucio. He married Maria Castro in Dallas on March 22, 1992. He is survived by his wife of 24 years; son, Harry Lucio and daughter, Sandra Lucio, both of Dallas; stepsons, Enrique Hernandez and wife Eva, and Ramon Castro, all of Uvalde; stepdaughter, Rocio Hernandez and husband, Asael of Uvalde; brothers, Felipe Lucio of Elgin, IL, and Jesus Lucio and Juan Lucio, both of San Juan, TX; sisters, Cecilia Aviles of McGregor, TX and Francisca Uvalle of Pharr, TX; nine grandchildren, Tabitha Lucio and husband Juan; Marissa Lucio; Valerie Castro; Jennifer Castro; Ivan Hernandez; Max Hernandez; Nataly Hernandez; Yadirha Hernandez; and Aiden Hernandez; and four great-grandchildren, Victoria and Sophia Trevino; and Nathan and Ariella Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Guadalupe Sanchez and Irene Abitua. A rosary will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
