Elisa Padilla

Elisa M. Padilla of Uvalde passed away on November 15, 2008 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 78. She was born on June 30, 1930 in Uvalde to Felix C. and Juanita Rodriguez Mirelez. She married Jose C. Padilla on January 11, 1947 in Uvalde. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Esther Padilla and Meli Bustamante and husband, Mayo, all of Uvalde; four sons, Felix Padilla and wife, Betty of Uvalde; Joe Padilla and wife, Tommie of Ingram, TX; George Padilla and wife, Mary of Grand Prairie, TX; and Michael Padilla and wife, Margaret of Uvalde; four sisters, Linda Garcia of Batesville; Sulema Torres and Piedad Salazar, both of San Antonio; and Elvira Mireles of Uvalde; one brother, Mike H. Mirelez of Cedar Park, TX; fifteen grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, David Mirelez and Sam Mirelez; and two sisters, Consuelo M. Ruiz and Florinda M. Flores. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Deacon Freddy Flores will officiate. Pallbearers will be Christopher Padilla; George Padilla; Martin Padilla; Joseph Padilla; Darel Padilla; and Mark Padilla. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Bustamante and Juan Gomez.
