Eliseo Gonzales Jr.

Eliseo F. Scratch Gonzales Jr. of Uvalde passed away at Uvalde Memorial Hospital on April 2, 2012 at the age of 74. He was born on December 11, 1937 in Uvalde to Jose and Estefana Fuentes Gonzales. He married Olivia Martinez in Uvalde on September 24, 1959. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, daughters, Olga Cortez and husband Rene and Ida Mize and husband Jim both of Uvalde, sons, Jose Gonzales and wife Anna Maria of Uvalde, Eloy Gonzales and wife Joanne of Michigan and Arnulfo Gonzales and wife Maria Elena of California sisters, Victoria Gonzales of California, Janie Gonzales of Uvalde and Lidia Bonilla of San Antonio, brothers, Manuel Jimenez and wife Queta of Uvalde and Fernando Gonzales and wife Martha of Ft. Worth, grandchildren, Rene Cortez Jr. and wife Magda, Lisa C. Middour and husband Jason, Valerie Mize, April Mize, Sarah Mize, Christopher Gonzales, Javier Esparza, Ricardo Gonzales, Jovani Gonzales, Jenika Gonzales, Sebastian Gonzales, Maria Elena Del Rio, Abraham Gonzales, Joaquin Gonzales, greatgrandchildren, Yecenia Cortez, Isaiah Cortez and Alyssa Cortez and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A rosary will be held on Saturday April 7, 2012 and Sunday April 8, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral mass will be held on Monday April 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Mize, Rene Cortez, Rene Cortez Jr., Arnulfo Gonzales, Christopher Gonzales and Eloy Gonzales.
