alignjustifyElizabeth Ann Black of Uvalde passed away on February 7, 2007 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 82. She was born on November 1, 1924 in La Coste, TX to John L. and Maggie Neutze. She married Hugh Opie Black on August 5, 1944 in San Antonio. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2003. She is survived by a daughter, Diana Meyer and husband, James of Uvalde; sister, Sophie Brookbank of San Antonio; four brothers, Gus Neutze and wife Barbara, Pete Neutze, both of Uvalde; Bobby Neutze and wife Margie of Kerrville; and John Neutze of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Shannon Mortensen husband, Jeff of Uvalde; Jamie Holt husband, Christopher of Wimberley; Ashley Meyer of Uvalde; Scott Wood of Rockport; and Kimberly Cannon husband, Greg of Houston; eight great-grandchildren, Bryan and Brittany Loch; Makenzie Mortensen; Brenden Holt; Kayla Wood; and Nicole, Douglas, and Andrew Cannon. Mrs Black is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pall Bearers will be Jimmy Neutze, Mike Neutze,Chad Neutze, Barin Neutze, Chris Holt, Clint Rodgers, and Stephan Rambie. Honorary Pallbearer will be Tad Neutze. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Wood; and two brothers, Jimmy and Frank Neutze. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 9th, at 10:30 AM at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Uvalde. Burial will be in Mission Park North Cemetery in San Antonio at 3:00 PM on Friday. Rev. Rick Carroll will officiate.
