Ella Stewart

Ella Corrinne Stewart, age 90, of Uvalde passed away on June 13, 2010 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born on the Kirchner Ranch on Spring Creek in Edwards County to Ira James Welch, Sr. and Annie Grace Kirchner. She was the eldest of four in an early pioneer family. She married Chester Carroll C.C. Stewart on June 24, 1938 and to that union six children were born. She is preceded in death by her husband parents sister, Vonell McFatter two brothers, Ira James Welch, Jr. and W.A. Bucky Welch soninlaw, J.W. Dub McKelvain and a grandsoninlaw, Joe Leslie Brown. She is survived by three sons, John Young Stewart and wife, Betty of San Antonio Robert Stewart and wife, Rae of Brewster, Kansas and Paul Stewart and wife, Toneilia of Sioux Center, Iowa three daughters, Carol Ann McKelvain of Uvalde Pam Kruse and husband, Don Paul of Uvalde and Paula Cowart and husband, John of Montgomery, TX 17 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren 3 greatgreatgrandchildren numerous nieces and nephews and twin greatgranddaughters to be born in the near future. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Barksdale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Barksdale Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Baird will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Y. Stewart, Jr. Brett Stewart Doak Stewart Royce Stewart Will McKelvain John Kruse James Kruse Rylan Stewart Wesley Cowart and Lance Brown. Memorial donations may be made to the Uvalde Hospice American Cancer Society or the American Heart Assn.
