Elmira Valdez

Elmira Ramos Valdez of Uvalde passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at her residence at the age of 55.  Elmira was born on June 23, 1965 to Nicasio and Paula (Lopez) Ramos in Uvalde.

She married Javier Valdez on July 23, 1988 in Uvalde.

Elmira graduated from Uvalde High School. She worked at Uvalde Memorial Hospital for 9 years as a CNA.

Elmira is survived by her husband of 31 years; three daughters, Paula Carolina Valdez and husband Shaun Saiz of Uvalde, Julissa Ramos Valdez of Uvalde and Valerie Marie Alvarado and husband Miguel of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; two grandchildren Dominic Rey Alvarado and Ace Jordan Alvarado of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; three brothers, Nicasio Ramos Jr. and wife Margaret of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Felipe Ramos and wife Gloria of Uvalde and Patricio Ramos and wife Linda of Uvalde; sister-in-law Cruzita Ramos of Uvalde; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Armando Ramos, Rolando Ramos and Ernesto Ramos.

Visitation held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Javier Valdez, Shaun Saiz, Felipe Ramos, Nicasio Ramos, Patricio Ramos and Miguel Alvarado.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dominic Rey Alvarado and Ace Jordan Alvarado.
