Elodia Ortiz

Elodia Carbajal Ortiz of Erie, Michigan formerly of Uvalde died on February 19, 2019 in Toledo, Ohio.  She was born on January 17, 1944 to Bernardo G. Carbajal and Maria Nevarez in Montell, Texas.  She was raised in Uvalde and attended Uvalde public schools.

Elodia is survived by her husband, Federico G. Ortiz, Sr. of Erie, Michigan, formerly of Knippa, Texas, whom she was happily married for 54 years; two sons, Federico Ortiz, Jr. of Toledo, Ohio and Victor Paul of Orlando, Florida; one daughter, Sylvia Ortiz Stirn of Erie, Michigan; two sisters, Albesa (Betty) C. Hernandez of Uvalde; and Otila C. Trevino of Racine, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Guadalupe Carbajal, Graciela Carbajal and Amalia C. Guzman.

Eloidia’s caring loving ways, loud joyous laughter, love of God, family, life and her precious rose bushes will be remembered by all that loved her and knew her.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
