Eloisa Perez Hernandez

Eloisa (Locha) Hernandez, 88 of Uvalde, TX, died peacefully on December 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 19, 1936 in La Pryor, Texas to Soila (Cruz) and Benito Perez. She married Cruz (Sonny) Hernandez on April 19, 1959 in La Pryor, Texas.

Eloisa (Locha) Hernandez was a woman who devoted her life to serving God. She prayed for and blessed everyone she knew; she was the family’s prayer warrior. She shared so much love and displayed kindness to everyone she encountered. She was a beautiful person inside and out who was interested in the well being of others before thinking about herself. Eloisa knew that it was more of a blessing to give than to receive; her selflessness knew no bounds. Eloisa brought a special light in the room with her positive energy; she never focused on the negative aspects of life.

She will be remembered for her faith, strength, compassion, acts and words of kindness, as well as her heartfelt conversations with others. Eloisa taught her family how important it is to love one another as well as how important it is to count our blessings in life regardless of the obstacles we face. She was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother with a beautiful soul. Her positivity drew attention to all and she loved with all of her heart. Eloisa was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Margot Mata and husband Carlos Mata; granddaughter Briana Andrea Mata, sister Gloria Garcia and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years, sister Alicia Salazar and four brothers, Camilo Perez, infant Benito Perez Jr., Benito Perez Jr. and Alejandro Perez.
