Eloisa Mendez

Eloisa Reyes Mendez of Uvalde passed away on August 29, 2016 at her residence at the age of 83. She was born on November 19, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas to Valentin and Aurora (Gonzalez) Reyes. She married Juanito Mendez in May 1980 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a member of the Sociedad Funeraria Miguel Hidalgo organization for numerous years.
She is survived by her daughters; Shelia Martinez of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hilda Hubbell and husband Richard of Saginaw, Michigan, Lisa Romanelli and husband Robert of Abilene, and Nanette Serenil and husband Humberto of San Antonio; sons, Larry Reyes of San Antonio, Anthony Reyes of Grand Haven, Michigan, Robert Reyes and wife Pat of Bitely, Michigan and Nicholas Reyes of Uvalde. 18 grand-children, 20 great-children, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son-in-law, Joaquin Martinez. 3 sisters, 4 brothers and her parents.
Visitation will start on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Sunday and Monday at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mission Park Cemetery in San Antonio.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Reyes, Nicholas Reyes, Humberto Serenil, Robert Romanelli, Chad Worth and Jose Quintanilla.
