Eloise Tackett

Eloise Cravens Tackett of Uvalde passed away on August 3, 2009 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. She was born on March 16, 1922 in Winchell, Texas to Jesse and Georgia Cravens. She married John Everett Tackett on October 26, 1940. Known as Nanny and Nana to her grandchildren, her family said she was the fun-hearted matriach of the Tackett family. They said she will be missed immensely, but her quick wit, energy and love will live on in the hearts of all that she touched. Tackett was a member of Grandfalls Union Church in Grandfalls. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Everett Tackett; one son, Jesse Kirk Tackett; and one daughter, Georgia Ann Rinehart. She is survived by six grandchildren, Elisa Rankin and husband, Steve; Angela Hegstrom and husband, Todd: Jared Tackett and wife, Amanda; Kayse Graham, Kellye Gentry and husband, Kody; and Nikole Tackett; and five great-grandsons; Clay Rankin of Uvalde and Parker, Tate, Ian, and Cal Hegstrom, all of Grand Junction, Colo. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Brownwood, Texas. Memorials may be sent to Grandfalls Union Church, 103 Ave. D.
