Elsie Reed

Elsie Pearl Reed of Uvalde passed away on November 24, 2017 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. She was born on May 5, 1937 in Somerset, TX to Willie Delbert Taylor and Ethel (Popham) Taylor. She married Charles Richard Reed on August 20, 1955 in Pleasanton. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2016. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Kirkham and husband, Gary of Uvalde; son, Clifford Reed and wife, Kim of Hondo; grandchildren, Taylor Kirkham; Cameron Reed; Blake Reed; and Emily Reed; sisters, Bessie Cox of Beeville and Barbara Padgett of Pensacola, FL; and brothers, Lawrence Taylor of Rockport; J.B. Taylor of Beeville; David Taylor of Cotulla; and Franklin Taylor of Flour Bluff, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Robert Taylor and Walter Taylor. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pastor Matthew Mitton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Taylor Kirkham; Cameron Reed; Blake Reed; Emily Reed; Robert Padgett; and Jackie Padgett.
