Elvira Cruz

Elvira Moreno Cruz of San Antonio, formerly of Uvalde passed away on April 5, 2009 at her residence at the age of 89. She was born on April 22, 1919 in Rio Frio, TX to Epifanio and Juana Albarado Moreno. She married Simon Cruz in Uvalde. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Olga Samarripa and husband, Robert of Kerrville; son, Rudy Ytuarte and wife, Donna of San Antonio; sister, Guadalupe Ruiz of San Antonio; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Jesusa Canales. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel.
