Emil Stuessy, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 1 at the age of 83. Emil was born March 31, 1929 in Charlotte, Texas. He attended school in Carrizo Springs and served in the United States Army from 19501952. Those who knew him would say Emil Jr. was a practical and genuine man with a wide variety of talents and a wonderful sense of humor. He took pleasure tinkering in his backyard and could build or repair anything with just a few raw materials. He also enjoyed his vegetable garden and an occasional hunting or fishing trip. His friends and neighbors would agree that Emil excelled in both roles and was always willing to go above and beyond to lend a helping hand. He spent his entire life in the communities of Carrizo Springs, Crystal City, Uvalde, and surrounding areas and treasured his many friends made over the years. Emil was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Molloy Stuessy, his parents, Emil and Mamie Stuessy, and his brother Lloyd Stuessy. He is survived by his companion Jo Nell Williams children, Emily Stuessy of El Paso, John Stuessy and wife, Lu of Weatherford, and Rosemary Stuessy and partner, Pamela of Oakland, California grandchildren, Brandon Stuessy of Monahans and Amanda Stuessy and fianc Calen Baucom of Monahans greatgrandchild Caleb Stuessy of Monahans sister Maxine Kolbe of Sheboygan, Wisconsin brotherinlaw, Jack Molloy and wife, Ann of Uvalde and many nieces and nephews. Emils family and many friends attended graveside services on Wednesday, September 5, at 10:00 AM at the Uvalde Cemetery. Pastor Nathan Lafrenz officiated.
