Emilia Ortega

Emilia De La Cruz Ortega of Uvalde, Texas passed away March 13, 2018 at her residence at the age of 88. She was born on April 6, 1929 in Sabinal, Texas to Salome De La Cruz and Tomasa Flores De La Cruz. She was married to the late Carlos Ortega, Sr. on October 6, 1942 in Sabinal, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Jose Bueno of 21 years, 2 sons, Salome Ortega and companion, Lydia Carrasco and Carlos and wife, Gloria Ortega of Uvalde, sisters, Camila Ramirez, Maria (Socorro)and husband Narciso Hernandez, brother, Antonio De La Cruz of Sabinal, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Ramiro Bueno, Carlos Bueno, Hugo Bueno, Hector Bueno, Lupe Ortiz, Gloria Gomez, and Blanca Bueno.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter in law, Corina Ortega.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Josslyn Guzman and Emily Howard will be doing the selected reading for the funeral mass.
Pallbearers will be Richard Ortega, Sal Ortega, Randy Ortega, Gabriel Ortega, Eric Martinez, and Chris Ortiz.
